Strict product standards
From play makeup to everyday essentials, every product must meet our strict ingredient standards to earn a place in the club. Carrying a brand never means everything it makes qualifies.
We look beyond “non-toxic” and “natural” labels to review ingredients, how they’re sourced, and the safety information behind each formula—with children’s developing bodies and sensitive skin in mind.
We look for concerns such as:
- Ingredients linked to hormone disruption
- Synthetic dyes and artificial fragrance
- Heavy-metal contamination
- Potential allergens, irritants, and ingredients that can cause sensitivity
- Restricted preservatives, including parabens
We also consider the amount of each ingredient, the intended age, and how the product is used. Where relevant, we review testing and ingredient-purity information from our brand partners.
Expert guidance, built into our standards
We use the established clean beauty framework developed by Credo Beauty—informed by dermatology, toxicology, cosmetic chemistry, and environmental health—to shape our ingredient standards. Our product curation is guided by medical advisers in pediatrics, allergy, and immunology.
Our Medical Advisory Board brings clinical experience to the ingredient questions parents shouldn’t have to navigate alone. Their guidance helps us consider allergies, skin irritation, ingredients that can cause sensitivity, and how products are used at different ages.
